+ Y Combinator +

It's official, a friend and I have submitted our application to Y Combinator for the winter submission deadline. Hopefully within the [...] in the Y Combinator program and has any advice / wisdom to impart I would be grateful if you passed it along to chris[at]nullcode.org.

+ Washington here I come +

It has been a while since I posted, too busy with class and such I suppose. The year is finishing up and it looks like I'll be off to [...] with that after I disappeared. Either way, this is looking like a good summer for hacking something out (from the west coast even).

+ Back in Gear +

It's been a long six months or so since I had to start slacking on keeping up with Debian due to life issues. In that time Brandon [...] even get that app going again. Oh, and it's time to get back to hacking on bugger. I wonder if JoshK has touched that in a while.

+ Woo, Something to hack on +

So after my earlier posting about needing something to hack on, Josh pointed out that I may have volunteered to help with bugger! in [...] now and tags are shown. Tons to work on still, should be fun.

Update: Another screenshot showing how bugs are filtered.

+ Ruts suck +

Lately I've felt like I'm in quite a rut as far as productivity goes. Sure, I've been hacking on projects at work but that is only so [...] else hasn't taken care of for me. Perhaps someone can recommend something to work on, but for now I'll go back to staring at the wall.

+ New Year hackery +

I arrived back in columbus about 15 minutes too late to celebrate the new year. I suppose this means next year I'll have to drink [...] should probably get around to throwing it on the bts.

Oh, and the laptop is down for the count again. I hate Apple hardware.

+ Vacations +

On the 15th I fled the shoddy weather of Columbus, Ohio for the warm climate of Phoenix Arizona. This is the first vacation I've had [...] up the Qube2 I'm supposed to be sending off to Kyle . I've been putting that off for a while so he'll probably be happy to hear that.

+ Re: Advocacy +

Wouter mentioned how he has used Linux on his apple laptop as a minor form of advocacy. One thing he hasn't seemed to experience yet [...] linux-wlan-ng (not ideal I suppose) and works fine outside of the rare occasion when the firmware doesn't load when I plug it in.

+ One of these days... +

It seems each time I try to change how blosxom handles break tags I seem to break something on planet. This time I managed to get a br ...

+ Props to the debian-installer team +

I've been hearing a lot of people say things like "My parents run ubuntu now" and "I'll recommend Ubuntu to all my friends" and this [...] but it wouldn't be possible without the amazing amount of work the debian-installer developers have put forth. Nice work guys.

+ The Cobalt Resurrection +

I've had quite a pile of cobalt gear for a while and I had promised Kyle that I'd send him a Qube2. This required I go through my [...] on hardware that was a pain to setup outside of the original OS load in the past. Time to start toying with my pile of mipsel boxes.

+ Everywhere I look... Ubuntu
+

I must admit, after seeing Ubuntu mentioned everywhere I finally decided to give it a shot on the desktop I don't use for development. [...] a pile of Debian work. Granted, I'm currently neither a Ubuntu nor a Debian developer, but it seems like quite a task to take on.

+ Well, almost. +

I decided to give X.org's 6.8 release a try to see if DRI in that branch worked with pmdisk. Turns out it doesn't and that branch has [...] improvement compared to the old 4.3 branch from XFree. Not a fan of xcompmgr though, it's unnecessary eye candy in my opinion.

+ My laptop needed sleep as much as I did +

Today I finally was bored enough to take a look at some of the ppc pmdisk/swsusp patches floating around. I'm told the merger made it [...] it so perhaps it will be resolved soon.

Oh, and still waiting on the first AM report, I suspect Joerg likes making me worry.

+ Technical Skills ... Complete! +

As of tonight my Technical Skills questions have been submitted to my AM. Now all I can do is wait and see if I pass. Assuming I do, [...] a bit today, odd library. Some of it is delightfully easy to use will other parts are infuriating. Take the bad with the godd I guess.

+ I deny everything +

Ok, well I admit it. They got the best of me.
Though I should point out there was (and still is) a bug doing such a thing, I just ...

+ The straw that broke jvw's back +

While looking over my packages before I submitted them to Joerg I realized I never cleaned up the unrar / rar packages after adopting [...] is marginally more intuitive for some users, that's my FOSS achievement for the day (even though I in fact didn't write the patch) :)

+ And off she goes... +

Well, I finally broke down and started using blosxom.

I was always adamantly against the whole weblog thing, but when someone [...] to say something relevant here in some unknown future. Time to finish those Technical Skills questions lest Joerg give up on me.
